Is this list for the 2023 “Everything Else” Fukuoka’s Grab Bag? It is coming in the mail to me now. I will know what to look for when they come up.
This is my first year with landrace mindset. But i have had almost a year to think on it and collect (buy) seeds.
Thank you for your part in all this.

The beans, radishes, tomatillos, and ground cherries got separated out into their own mixes. The rest of the seeds went into the grab bag.

Because of the extreme weather, we have three growing seasons over the Sonora dessert. I chose and received Fukuoka’s grab bag, Ground cherry, Tomatillo. hot weather beans, and everything else. Some will be planted during the monsoon season, the others will have to go in the winter season starting in late November and resembles many northern states summer season. I had also missed my spring season due to a medical pause…
For the super hot summer we grow okra, Malabar spinach, water melons, muskmelons, asparagus beans, Armenian cucumber, edible gourds, cucumbers, sunflower and zinnia. We enjoy edible flowers as much as vegetables.

Ha ha, amazing! Can’t wait to get it. Last year’s was so much fun :green_heart:

The Tarahumara corn sounds interesting.

Any idea if its one of the three known flour color varieties or is it a mixed landrace of all three?

White Flour for the corn milk drink they make, the Red Flour for the tortillas they make, or the Yellow Flour for the tamale and tortilla making?

The Tarahumara corn was not any of those previously mentioned.

Is there a recommended amount of space for the packet? Just scatter and let them fight it out or separate out some of the more obvious kinds of seeds (like plant the bean that looks like a Mayflower pole bean right next to the corn in the package)? I know not everything will do well or ripen in time in our zone, but this is gonna be fun.

Well, I CAN tell you a 4x8 bed is not enough unless you like it really, really crowded. It didn’t seem like that much seed but some stuff got pretty big.
